Job Placement: Beyond Basics
A One-Day Job Development Training

This will include a history of job placement. This introduction will track how job development has evolved from a vocation to a profession. It will track the development of cannons, practices and standards in the profession. It will cover myths and beliefs about job development. It will include a review of the different models and theories of job placement from the “job bank” model to sheltered employment.

Goals and Objectives. Participants will:

• Learn about the history of job placement.

• Be able to determine how far along their career is given the growth of the field.

• Participants will learn the importance of keeping up to date about the cannons and practices of the field.
