Doctors are from Mars, Claims Reps are from Venus, Employers are from Jupiter, and The Injured Worker is in the Waiting Room
The Ten Top Ways That Our Failure to Communicate with Each Other Complicates Workers' Compensation Claims

There is no question that from time to time the players in the workers' compensation field have different goals. Must we also complicate things further by having a different language as well? In this insightful and often humorous presentation Dr. Jennifer Christian and Richard Pimentel explore the most common miscommunications that frustrate Claims, Physicians and Employers.

Richard and Jennifer will not only decipher the most frustrating communications:

  • What does “released to light duty” mean?
  • How can I release my patients to their old jobs when I don’t know what the old job is?
  • Can you please evaluate the patient’s condition focusing only on the work-related injury rather than the whole person?
  • We don’t want the employee back till he/she is 100%
  • Why is it going to take longer to rehabilitate the claimant than it took the system to convince him he was disabled?
They will provide more effective ways to communicate with each other that considers not only in the information that is wanted but the information that is needed for everyone to do their job and make the system work.

Participants are encouraged to bring up their most frustrating miscommunication and Dr. Christian and Rich Pimentel will attempt to translate it for them.
