Disability Awareness
Training by Richard Pimentel

Persons with disabilities have one of the highest unemployment rates of any minority group in this country. Yet in study after study persons with disabilities who are employment are rated among the most productive and satisfactory of current employees. For persons with disabilities there is obviously a big difference between ability and opportunity when it comes to employment.

In this national award winning workshop Richard Pimentel demonstrates that what fills the space between ability and opportunity are attitudes. Richard will explore how our attitudes towards persons with disabilities are formed and how assumptions and beliefs about disabilities become transferred to persons with disabilities

Richard will show simple ways to more effectively evaluate, supervise and work with persons with disabilities. He will explore the importance of language and etiquette when working with persons with disabilities and how to work with and support co workers when they acquire disabilities.

All this will be done in a fun, interactive and often humorous style that sets this diversity training apart from any others you may have attended.
