Larry Kennedy
Leader in Staff Development and Performance Management

Larry Kennedy is well known to business and government in California for his ability to construct partnerships with Community Colleges. In recent years corporations and government have sought more cost effective means of improving Staff Development and Performance Management. Larry has helped business to discover the value of working with Community Colleges through their short-term Contract Education services and Vocational Certificates.

His twenty-eight years teaching college Business Management and Economics to working students have deepened his appreciation for bottom-line and streamlined solutions to business challenges. In addition, his active involvement in California Workforce Association, Chambers of Commerce, Rotary International and United Way influenced his vision of a successful business: Develop staff stewardship in the Enterprise through intrinsic reward systems.

Larry has managed Department of Labor One-Stop Workforce offices since 1985. This experience allows him to draw upon the best workforce practices of both major corporations and small business. His field experience allows him to quickly focus on the most immediate needs of his business customers.

He has developed curricula for and taught short-term courses over the last eight years for University of California, Davis Extension in the fields of Leadership, Employee Performance and Change Management. This experience has strengthened his belief that employees exhibit many modalities of learning. He feels that education needs to be responsive to people's experience and understanding. Systems we set up to guide our training need to be flexible and relational. The Twenty-First Century employee must understand the Values and Mission of his/her employer while thinking independently in a cost-cutting, global environment.
